Dan Custer is an American landscape painter whose work is inspired by the mountains, rivers, and forests of the American West. Raised in Montana, he studied fine art at the University of Montana before earning a degree in Visual Communications from the Art Institute of Seattle
Following successful careers in advertising, film, and industrial design, Dan returned to his lifelong passion for painting. His experience as an illustrator, animator, and product designer continues to influence his work, bringing a strong sense of composition and visual storytelling to his oil paintings of the American West.
Now based in western Montana, Dan draws daily inspiration from Glacier Country and the Northern Rockies, creating paintings that invite viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with nature.
